Elizabeth - Manager

I joined Hand to Mouth in 2018 having left my job as a Secondary Teacher with no idea how exciting my future work would be! My passion is writing and delivering exciting, creative and enriching RE experiences. Everything gets tested on my own children first.

Kezia - Schools Worker

A creative mother of two young boys. I also love the outdoors and camping. Excited to bring my script writing skills to hand to mouth to build on what we already have to offer.

Alison - Schools Worker

I'm really excited to have joined the Hand to Mouth team, as I love working with young people and their fantastic teachers. I'm a mum of two, and after taking a break from working in theatre and education, it's great to be back in schools again.

Helen - Schools Worker

It is such a privilege to share God’s love with children and to be doing it with Hand to Mouth is amazing! I’ve previously worked with children within the creative arts sector and in schools alongside raising my own children. I’m really excited to be part of the Hand to Mouth team!

Christine - Admin Assistant

I have been the Administrative Assistant at Hand to Mouth since January 2022 and am loving being part of this passionate team. I enjoy using my office and organisational skills to support the teaching staff from behind the scenes. The best part of my job is ringing our wonderful volunteers who help us to deliver our Amazing Journeys in schools! I ring to offer them dates on which they can volunteer with us, but often end up talking about their lives and interests, and I love chatting to these inspiring people who give up their time to help us.

Irene

I am a widowed mother of two adult daughters and retired from my longtime job as a Library Assistant four years ago. I have been involved with Hand to Mouth in various ways for about 15 years. I saw one of the puppet shows at St Thomas' Bradley in 2007 and was impressed with how Gospel truths were presented in an imaginative way that spoke to both children and adults. Since then I have been a volunteer, whenever I was able, going into schools to help with the Journeys. It has been a privilege to bring God's Word to the children. They often come up with thoughful insights and questions, which is a testament to how the Journeys are set up. When Dorothy asked me about becoming a Trustee, at first I was unsure, but after some thought and prayer, I decided to put myself forward, and was delighted to be accepted. I am still finding my feet, (as of 2022), but am enjoying it and hope, with God's help, to be able to use my skills to make a worthwhile contribution to the running of Hand to Mouth, helping it to go from strength to strength.

Jeff

I worked for many years in primary education initially in the classroom and then in management and have first-hand experience of seeing the positive impact that Hand to Mouth has had on the lives of young people. As a recent addition to the Hand to Mouth team, as a Trustee, I am looking forward to supporting its important life changing work as children and adults in schools hear about and experience the love that God has for them.

Christine

I am very pleased to become a Trustee for Hand to Mouth, as well as a Volunteer, and be able to contribute to the strategic direction of the charity. My awareness of Hand to Mouth began when my son was in primary school and experienced bible stories through the puppet shows. Later, as a Teaching Assistant, I liaised with the charity to help arrange journeys in school as part of the RE, Collective Worship and SMSC curriculum which, as a governor at the same school, allowed me to be a link ‘enabling the pupil’s exploration of Christianity and for them to reflect upon their own Spiritual Journey’, helping build confidence and resilience ready for life’s challenges. Previously, I worked within the Clothing Industry and was fortunate to travel extensively throughout the world observing many different cultures and religions. From an early age I’ve always been interested in how people live, learn and practice their faith in differing environments. Now retired, I hope with experience gained throughout my various careers in business and education I shall be able to support Hand to Mouth moving forward into the next 25 years of their own journey. As a recent addition to the Hand to Mouth team, as a Trustee, I am looking forward to supporting its important life changing work as children and adults in schools hear about and experience the love that God has for them.

Wendy

I joined Hand to Mouth board of trustees in July 2022, and still feel something of “the new girl”, as I have no previous experience of working for or volunteering with them, although I do know some of the team. However, I was seeking God for ways I could serve Him. I ‘m hoping that I can use my skills in accounts to assist and support the team. I’m looking forward to spending time with the team in schools. It will be a blessing and a privilege to help in the work they do with the children and the staff in allowing them to explore their own spiritual journey, and hear of the love of Jesus.

John

After practising as a Mental Health Nurse for a number of years, I then spent most of my career in Academia as a Professor of Mental Health and Faculty Dean prior to taking early retirement in 2016. I have been a committed Christian since my youth and currently worship at St David’s in Holmbridge. I enjoy travelling and listening to and playing music. I have four children and 11 grandchildren and two dogs - all of whom keep me fairly busy. I have been a Trustee for a number of charities over the years and wanted to use my professional and personal experience to actively participate in the great work of Hand to Mouth - a charity we have supported for a number of years.
